Project Overview
Professional Systems Engineering, LLC (PSE) has provided engineering services for PHL Airport under a task order based contract since 2006. This project aimed to provide a more efficient and effective solution for monitoring the airport’s various HVAC, lighting, and power systems. Working with various members of the airport staff, PSE proposed a solution which will provide monitoring of all systems from a single workstation while increasing efficiency and reducing the Airport’s maintenance costs.
TSA CCTV Expansion
TSA CCTV Expansion
- Provided video screen shots of all proposed camera locations which were included as part of cameras mounting details
- Designed expansion of existing CCTV system to provide monitoring of all TSA checked baggage screening station throughout airport
- Survey of TSA baggage screening area
- Determined legacy infrastructure including fiber electric communications, ductbanks, etc.
- Provided evaluation of traditional analog, hybrid, and IP CCTV technology
- Integrated legacy uses selected hybrid camera delivery with existing analog CCTV system
- Proved point-to-point level drawings of all CCTV system and network components
Enterprise SCADA, Building Management and Lighting Control Systems
Enterprise SCADA, Building Management and Lighting Control Systems
- On-site survey of the following systems:
- SCADA interface for power substations
- Building Management Systems
- Airfield lighting control systems and interior lighting
- Interviews/meetings with airport maintenance staff
- Interviews/meetings with various hardware and software vendors
- Development of unified monitoring solution
- Preparation of an needs assessment with our findings and solutions
- IT recommendations for hi-capacity, secure networks upgrades
Perimeter Security Designs
Perimeter Security Designs
- Surveys of existing gates areas
- Determine legacy infrastructure including fiber, electrical, communications, ductbanks, etc.
- Determine legacy security systems (integration requirements including access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, PLC networks, etc.)
- Investigate all existing service infrastructure including sewer, water, power, communications, and storm water
- Generate narrative outlining of all findings and recommendations
- Develop phasing plans for temporary access, construction, and system
- Provide drawings and specifications of the proposed designs for vehicle gates
- Design for vehicle and personnel searches using back scatter x-ray technology and undercarriage video detection
