A Community Investment Project with Improved Learning Spaces
The construction of Perth Amboy High School is currently underway as a community investment project. The school is being built using a design-build process to address overcrowding in the district and provide students with an improved learning environment.
The school is slated to open in 2024, serving about 3,300 students, grades 9 to 12. This project is being completed through the NJSDA program by design-build project delivery. The design-build process uses fast-track multi-phase design delivery to meet the NJSDA’s project schedule.
PSE is responsible for providing engineering consulting services for the school’s IT, communications, security, educational technology, and audio/visual systems. The high school will be a three-story building spanning 576,000 square feet and will cost $283.8 million. It will be located on Convery Boulevard catering to approximately 3,300 students in grades 9 to 12.
Perth Amboy High School will feature traditional classrooms, science labs, and special educational spaces like a black box studio, dance studio, and technical labs. Additionally, the new facility will be equipped with one-to-one technology to aid in student learning.
