  • PSE has helped state correctional facilities across the nation to capitalize on the best that today’s technologies offer. Highlights demonstrating our specialized expertise within the unique environment of corrections facilities include:
  • Design of sophisticated prison systems in security, control, communications, fire/life safety, and infrastructure totaling over one billion dollars for correctional facilities nationwide.
  • A record of zero escapes from federal, state and local facilities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Kentucky, and other states using virtually impenetrable fencing perimeter/security system design.
  • Multiple correctional projects including master planning, security upgrades, cell door locking, and video arraignment systems linking City corrections and courts facilities.
  • Comprehensive experience in several wireless RF duress alarm systems complete with man-down feature and central station notification for prisons, juvenile and other facilities in California, Rhode Island, Kentucky, New Jersey and elsewhere.
  • Design and technologies consulting on several design/build projects for control, communications, detection systems and infrastructure including the state-of-the-art Lexington-Fayette Detention Center in Kentucky.
  • Security designs featured on CBS Evening News with Dan Rather and in October ’05, National Geographic’s MegaStructures Program dedicated to our designs for “The Most Secure Prison Fence and Security Systems in America,” as stated in the show.

For 20 years, PSE has successfully completed projects on dozens of correctional and large county and city facilities. The depth of our resources and engineering capabilities has yielded technically advanced systems that fulfill clients’ immediate and long-term goals. Our systems are designed for flexibility to accommodate future expansion and to keep pace with evolving technologies. Our proven history of completing both design-bid-build and design-build projects on time and within budget can be verified through outstanding client references.  PSE is the Engineer‑of‑Record for many of the United State’s largest facilities including Rikers Island in New York City, WCI/NBCI in Maryland, Essex County Jail in New Jersey and Orange County in California. These sites alone include over 35,000 inmates. All told, our security, communications and life safety consulting endeavors have protected over 200,000 detainees, or about 10% of the national justice count.
