A new computerized fire alarm, smoke detection,
air handling unit shutdown and control, audio evacuation, firemen's communication system, elevator recall, fire pump supervisory monitoring, dry pipe sprinkler system monitoring, and floor-by-floor sprinkler retrofit with tamper flow monitoring for this 21-story tower was designed by PSE.

Wyndham Hotel at Franklin Plaza
Philadelphia, PA

PSE designed a new life safety/fire alarm system replacing the 20-year-old system. PSE provided the one million sq. ft. hotel with digital true-alarm, multiplex fire alarm/smoke detection using dual color graphic computers for fire command and maintenance. New high pressure stand-pipe flow control was also provided.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Multiple Building Campus-Wide

PSE provided complete high-rise and low-rise sprinkler retrofits in over one-half million sq. ft. of student housing.

For this 60-story office tower, PSE designed a new fire alarm system with audio evacuation, exhaust and pressurization complete with computer monitoring. PSE performed evacuation and certification testing for life safety systems.

Richard Stockton College

PSE met the project objective of installing a code-compliant fire suppression system on a tight schedule for student residential facilities and academic buildings. All systems are concealed to reflect the aesthetic nature of the properties.

James River Correctional Center

PSE continues to provide multidisciplinary project coordination of architecture and engineering including new topographic surveys, underground utility assessment, soil testing and geotech analysis, stair structural requirements, and life safety determination/recommendations meeting strict requirements of the National Fire Code, State Fire Marshall, and BCOM A/E Practice Manual.

Powhatan Correctional Center
State Farm, Virginia

PSE provided a complete life safety scope of work for life safety improvements to “M” building, a tiered maximum security wing as well as a basement level detention area. All modifications were accomplished during occupancy with all systems furnished as specified in compliance with ADA requirements, several unusual State Fire Marshall demands, BCOM A/E services manual directives, and institutional needs.

Ocean County Jail
Toms River, New Jersey

On this project for the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, PSE is providing ongoing electronic perimeter security and surveillance, communications infrastructure, fire protection/fire alarm/life safety, and commissioning engineering and consulting services for this jail expansion and renovation project totaling 157,000 square feet at a cost of $49 million.

Travis County Jail
Austin, Texas

PSE was commissioned by Sheriff’s Office of Travis County to provide engineering and consulting services to design a smoke detection system with control logic to control the smoke evacuation system and meet stringent state code requirements.
