Security Systems Designer

Job Description:

PSE is seeking a Security Systems Designer to work in a spacious new office with a team of professional engineers and designers. Become involved with both physical and electronic security for varied projects ranging from state-of-the-art super-max corrections facilities to historic court/justice buildings and forensic psychiatric hospitals. In many instances, our innovative projects involve design and consultancy with several teams of architects, MEP, and user-agencies. We team with ‘the best in the business’ A/E firms in the country..

Day-to-day functions include planning and programming for security communications, CCTV, integrated access control using proximity cards, and door and lock control. Crucial project responsibilities are comprised of preparation of reports, drawings, code and standards, schedules, product and equipment research, and client budgetary input.

Preferred Requirements:

• Knowledge in design of electrical systems, power distributions, PLCs, physical and electronic security systems and/or communications, life safety, and fire protection.
• Relevant or related work experience is preferred.
• Strong desire to pursue a well-respected industry recognized certification, such as, PMP, NICET, and/or ASIS are plus points.
• A college degree and/or equivalent experience is desirable.
• Familiarity with A/E/C or integrator environments.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD.
