Digital Space Design

We specialize in digital space design. This includes spaces that must sustain themselves and particularly in digital content that is both highly formatted, diverse and a combination of sequence and real-time switched. Acoustics/Noise & Vibration Control

One of our proprietary software programs copyrighted in 1991 by our company's founder, is aptly called CANVAS. This sophisticated program, named for Computerized Analysis of Noise, Vibration, Acoustics, and Sound is used by our acoustics engineers in the pre-design phase of a project and helps avoid costly architectural errors. In seconds we can retrieve an acoustical signature of the intended space; altering structure, finishes or treatments to achieve listening or performance goals, or to treat problem noise and vibration components. The acoustical impression our modeling creates assures integrity of the environment while enhancing sound quality.

Educational Technologies

For clients ranging from public schools and private institutions to government agencies, PSE has provided solutions for design of smart classrooms, conference rooms, theaters, and other specialized areas for a variety of facilities. In corporate, education settings, college/university, and K-12, PSE has provided the full range of consulting and design services for academic facilities including classrooms, music rooms, auditoriums, gymnasiums, mechanical and electrical spaces, and other locations. Healthcare Security, Life Safety & Communications

PSE has developed cutting-edge solutions targeted to our hospital and university clients' needs and strive to design state-of-the-art systems that keep pace with evolving technology. Since 1986, our professional staff has been involved in laboratory and high performance space through the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Our experience has included secure electronic record management, security in urban environments. Creating site security and life safety/evacuation polices, procedures, training, and post orders. We have addressed community, corporate, and federal hospitals. Incorporation of BIM design reflects a forward engineering strategy for all our project work.

PSE is currently providing services on four hospital projects in Washington, DC; Maryland; and New Jersey. The components of the projects include very high-level physical and electronic security including massive renovations, digital data center design, digital nurse call and patient observation systems, emergency operations center, fire evacuation planning, code compliance and training, security keying and procedures, and automation systems with touch control.

Our healthcare, clinical, surgical, and pharmaceutical experience includes specialties such as forensic security, life science multi-room video conferencing, specialized “preemie” ICU suites, gas monitoring, and hospital emergency evacuation.
